SAM’s Closed After 50 Years
Just 3 months after celebrating their 50th anniversary, Sam’s Italian American Restaurant has served its last dinner. While closed for their annual two-week vacation it became apparent to its owners, Paul Rappoccio and his sister Carmela Daubney, that it was time to close. Paul, 71 and Carmela, 73 have both worked in the restaurant since its first day in 1971. Opened by their parents, Sam’s has always been a family owned, family run restaurant while continuously operating at its original location on Southern Boulevard. With the extremely demanding hours they work each week, difficulty in hiring needed personnel, and the result of regulations due to the pandemic, they made the hardest decision of their life.
Paul and Carmela wish to thank their many loyal customers, and the generations of families, who have dined at Sam’s and become not only friends, but family. This includes their staff, many of whom had worked there for decades.
The restaurant will be offered for sale or lease. For further information, please send an email to:

“We've gone a few times, and have never been disappointed! The food is great, as are the staff. The atmosphere is very warm and comfortable. Definitely my favorite Italian place around!” - Trilby Hemeon
